Sunlight-Colored Roses

A sanctuary for dreams and shadows

Makeup, shopping

I love braids in an 1840s style. My self/hair yearns for this style. I have done my hair in a braid almost every day this week. I think next week I will make it a goal to have a braid every day. And at least one day do a milkmaid braid, which I haven’t done for a while.

I love the way my hair has become. I was looking at pictures of Mia Wasikowska from the movie Jane Eyre and was surprised. I am coming closer to that color than I ever thought I could. I love having red(-ish) hair.

I found my pale Mary Kay lipstick this morning and used it. It is heavy enough to pale out my lips and stays almost till noon.

I don’t like heavy eyeliner, especially on the top lid. Even though I use brown liquid liner, it looks  really dark, even when I use a tiny line. The crayon-style isn’t much better. It’s difficult to make a thin line, and it ends up being too much liner. When I line my lower eye also it tends to flake onto my under-eye area.

What I use most often is eye shadow applied in a tiny line on my upper lid. This really works best with my shimmery shadows. The muted ones don’t stay. I have a dark coppery, shimmery shadow that works great, and also a green one, but they are not every day colors.

I found some tan, knee-length polyurethane boots. They fit perfectly, and I am delighted that I will wear them next week. They lace up on the sides. I have never owned these kind of boots before. They will work with all kinds of looks.

I purchased a Dream of Doll Twing-key on eBay. I am picking her up after work. I passed on another doll that was secondhand, and on my wish list, and I really regretted it. I didn’t make that mistake with Twing-key. I have also purchased her a chocolate-brown wig, and an antique metal trunk with little brown bears on it. I will see how the hazel eyes I have work for her. Right now I am calling her “Billina” but I will see what her face and presence suggest.

I think that’s all. Nathan and I are going to the new Chipotle that opened down the street tonight. I have been looking forward to it all week. I love black beans so much, and I prefer Chipotle’s salsa to others.

This weekend I plan to continue with sewing/doll room/selling dolls. I paid for Billina with this week’s eBay earnings.
