Sunlight-Colored Roses

A sanctuary for dreams and shadows

Doll Chateau Erwin

Erwin

Yesterday I purchased Doll Chateau Erwin from eBay seller jeeryama. I have bought several items from this store, including my Doll Leaves Lilith, and I have been very pleased with it. My estimated time of arrival is July 16 – September 16. It’s a long wait, but I’m really thrilled.

He has been the only male doll I have wanted for years, and I have never felt a doll was this beautiful, ever. I had doubts about even if Josette was right for me, which is really funny to think about now because she is truly my morning star. However, Erwin’s face feels so familiar to me. I feel numerous characters of mine look just like him.

I have named him Bryony Kerrin, after the King of Winter in my Winterborn story. Bryony is a 19th century German Pietist who falls in love with my character Hildegarde. However, in the doll room, he is going to be Josette’s boy friend. I see them together very clearly.

I can’t wait to sew for him, because I love sewing for boy dolls. I’m going to make him some manhwa-style clothes. I see him in a white satin sleeveless shirt with a cravat bow or rose at the throat. For his role as my character Bryony he will have flaxen hair, but I chose a long gray wig as my free wig from jeeryama, and I’m excited to see how that will work as well. I also want to use a long red wig. I already have many boy wigs I plan to use for him. In the meantime, I need to accumulate clothes for him. I would like to have an outfit ready for him when he comes home.

Yesterday I selected some silk flowers from Hobby Lobby for photo shoots. I found a bouquet of bronze and golden-toned peonies, a strand of colorful candy buds, and a deep purple peony, which I was very drawn to because it reminded me of Bryony. I couldn’t find anything I wanted for Josette. There weren’t any purple violets, ivory roses or peonies. However, I already have three bunches of velvet violets and two vintage white bridal pieces to use with her.

I rearranged my sewing / doll room, and my photo booth is filled with extra stuff. I have some curtain rods to hang behind shelving, some scarves to sew into curtains, a vintage bridal gown to alter for Josette, and a box full of remnants and vintage aprons to sew into doll clothing.

I don’t mind waiting so long for Bryony, because I feel I have a lot to do in the meantime, and I really enjoy the anticipation.
