Sunlight-Colored Roses

I am a rose of porcelain
and a shadow on the wall
I have no form or substance
I am beautiful, but I am already dead
cut and set in crystal

I believe in balance between the four elements, embodied in —

Air — The mind – The pursuit of knowledge and wisdom, some truths palpable in this world and other wordless truths within the soul. Furthered through reading books, considering works of art, and providing space for meditation or contemplation.

Fire — The will – The life purpose, the force that drives me each day to do as I do with particular bent. I remain focused on the lessons I must learn in this life. This will, when misdirected, will impel me to act addictive, weak or foolish. This is the force that binds me to day-to-day life, committing me to solving my problems and working through issues.

Water — The heart – My emotions are my help and guide through life, signalling me to proper action through stormy waters. I honor my highest feelings and protect my heart from damage through low-energy influences and anything that hurts my self-respect. I honor soulmate love and sacred friendships as opportunities to exchange the highest forms of love.

Earth– The physical world- The earth, its gifts, and living and nonliving entities are for our love and admiration. All that Nature has crafted is beautiful, and it is only from the Natural that we learn. Not only other humans, but animals, trees, lakes, can offer us friendship and pleasure.
