1991-1992 (6th grade)
- In the Place Called St. Heather
- Island of Desolation and The War. I wrote Island of Desolation on Diana’s computer, and I wrote The War at Dad and Diana’s house on notebook paper.
- The Inner Fire: not sure when this was written. It was probably 1991-1992. It’s definitely juvenilia.
1992-1993 (7th grade)
- The Magnificent Journey
- Winter Rose (original), written for Lydia. Winter Rose (2002), rewrite and notes. 12/9/19: I still have the original manuscript for the 7th-grade Winter Rose that needs to be transcribed. There are some ethical problems with Craig’s scorned fiancée killing herself, since that makes way for Rose.
Stories
- Melissa and Raoul, a fragment (1996)
- A Strange Land (Winter 1996); Fatimah’s Pride (rewrite). Original notes. Written notes on Turkish culture to be copied from my notebook. I don’t have any plans to put this on my site. I remember writing this a very, very long time ago on my 486. I wrote a detailed story about Givencha which may be entirely lost to me. I thought I wrote it in a bound journal one summer at my grandparents’.
- The Titanic Necklace, originally untitled.
- The Violinist (Grandma and Pop pop’s, Laptop). 12/9/19. This is an interesting fragment. I could put it on my site.
- Engel von Nacht (1997) Dark Shadows fan fiction posted to SciFi BB. Also Samantha, Carrie. Revise slightly for my site.
- The Grove—originally titled “Daughter of the Grove (1998).” I have plans to revise it slightly for my site.
- The Awakening
- My original effort, a supernatural contemporary romance, and my re-write of it in college.
- A sort of prequel (1997) written after the contemporary novel about the historical characters referenced, and research notes.
- A Fragile Reverie, a re-write of the original story’s Prologue. Love’s Shadow (lycanthrope): an unfinished revision of the story with lycanthrope elements, and notes.
- The original, Love Among the Shadows. Possibly the very first draft, here (incomplete).
- Rewritten in its entirety as The Glass House (2004).
- My preliminary attempt at The Awakening (2003), partially revised. This is the working draft (2007).
- Lucrece (Laptop). Notes. An outline I have started. There are several different versions of the story layered in one file. At this time, I don’t know what I will do with the story. I have no plans to finish it right now. Here’s the original of the story with no additions, dated 2000.
- Castle of the Seventh Moon (1998), revised as The Summerhouse (2006), and notes.
- Bronwen – notes. Later to become my novel, Victoria’s Dance.
- The Pianist (Lechner)
- The Beekeeper, original version and my edited version, and a version with notes.
- I wrote a short story sequel, probably titled “The Return” in my beginning days at Mary Kay on night shift—Kathlene was still there, so it was probably late 2004 or early 2005. I accidentally deleted the entirety of this story, to my great regret. Maybe one day I will find it archived on my computer, but I don’t think so.
- In “The Return” Leda goes on a journey to the mansion where she played out a drama with her beloved sister Ursula years before. Ursula is now dead, and Leda feels lifeless without her gentle presence. On the steps of the old mansion, Leda finds a young boy with curly black hair and an impish smile—the love-child of Ursula and her young doctor. Leda embraces the child, grateful to have a part of her beloved sister—but her realizations about Ursula shock her deeply. She was not the only sister to have deceived the other long ago.
- The Tower, and notes.
- Gisela, a fragment
- Some fragments written in the summer of 1999.
- The Shrine
- The Shrine (1999), and revision/notes. (2007)
- Rewritten as The Statue (2000) with motorcyclists. I found the original .wps with motorcyclists, a shortened version in the first person with Fanchon only, and a revision in the third person with Fanchon only.
- The Annunciation (2001)
- The Mirror Crack’d (2000). The original. Also written for Creative Writing II. I have an additional paper version I want to check against this text.
- A Vampire (2002), and notes.
- Blanche, present version, and previous versions. 11/18/19: I added to this while working on night shift, handwritten and transferred to the file, so 2005-2006. It still doesn’t have an end—or maybe that really is the end.
- The Dark River (possibly late college, after The Sound and the Fury).
- The Inheritance (2002), and notes.
- A Shadow (After JOUR 101). A scene.
- Gloria’s Paradise (Hart), alternate version, notes and outline.
- Fragment (Hart, after Winter Light). I never attempted film noir before this. It is still untitled. I have no plans at present to finish it, but it is interesting. 12/28/06 I wrote comments on it. It’s not like any of my other stories, but I don’t think I know enough about that kind of thing, or care enough, to ever finish this. 12/9/19: This is similar to the 1930’s romance magazine stories. I could revise it.
- Moon Rising (Hart). It’s 158 pages. I need to read this one and figure out how much of it is repeated. I do not remember writing that much on this story.
- The Mermaid Diaries (Hart)
- Nausicaa (Freshman year).
- When I Dream at Night (2000). Revise for my site, for Dark Shadows fan fiction section. Later, Notes for Carolyn (A Journey into the Past), another Dark Shadows fan fiction.
- Salem (2000), and notes. I remember this story being very good, but unfinished. I want to revise it for my site, title it.
- Cymbeline, and deleted scenes. Juvenile fantasy romance novella.
- The Magician (Hart). I do not intend to continue this.
- Notes on Ghislain, also called The Golden Gown.
- Love’s Image, deleted scenes and notes. Rewrite: The Bohemians (2001), and notes.
- Summer Dream (2001), and notes. An additional version I found. I have not determined if it is older or newer than the other. 12/9/19: I can read the additional version, but that wps file may need recovery. This is a good fragment.
- Lorraine (2001)
- Notes (2001) help me date some of my stories.
- The Siren (Hart/Bible study) I have plans to finish this story. Notes, first draft and deleted scenes.
- Victoria’s Dance (Hart) I have plans to finish this story. 12/9/19: I have no idea how I wanted to end this, but it was a good fragment.

- The Dark Angel (2003), and notes.

- Jenny (2004).

- Cambriel (2004), and notes. Cambriel runs away from a dark life and takes a job at a dilapidated ranch house. Her employer has secrets of his own. 12/9/19: There was an earlier version I only have a couple short scenes for in which Cambriel is a blind composer and her love interest is her secretary transposing her music.
- Notes (2004). Novel-writing workshop, character profiles.
- Cendrillon (Arlington), and notes. 12/9/19. This looks like it was a promising fairy-tale reprise type of fantasy romance.
