To the West lies Margaret, the mermaid guardian of emotions. Her hair is black as the abyss in which she dwells, insensible of everything but the stirrings of her heart. She sees through her heart’s center. She sacrificed all of herself for a soulmate love that was denied her. Her openness to pain and sorrow has greatly increased her power.
At the North remains Amalthea, with burnished hair and eyes, the guardian of the earth. Amalthea remains firmly rooted in the physical world.
