I worked with my mineral makeup set. I was thrilled with it. I can’t believe I haven’t used it before. I purchased this Joelle set from eBay. It was much cheaper than name brands. It doesn’t have the metallic sheen I associate with mineral makeup. It is matte and very natural-looking.
After applying my face and eye cream, I apply the mineral concealer, which is nearly white, under my eye with my finger and pat it to blend, adding more as needed. Then I blend it with the kabuki brush around the eye area to soften the edges. I apply the mineral foundation with the kabuki brush to my under-eye areas and blend it gradually across my nose and cheekbones. I only put a little on my chin and forehead.
I am scaling back on the amount of blush I wear. Now that I have a more effective concealer I don’t feel the need for it. On my breaks I often will sit in my car for a few moments to thaw out from being in the lab, and this does more for my complexion than makeup.
I applied a brown eyeliner to the lower outer half of my lid and the entire top lid, then smudged the lower lid. Over this I applied hazelnut eye shadow, covering most of the eye liner. I then applied copper eye shadow sparingly to my eyelids. This is the most finished look I have achieved. I do not believe I want to wear it every day, because it is just too much makeup.
